Riga Fish Festival is going to take place in cooperation with LIVE Rīga and Rīgas Centrāltirgus AS on Nēģu Street Square at the Central Market at 11 AM on Saturday, 28 October. Those who visit the Festival will have the opportunity to taste and buy the most famous Latvian fish and seafood delicacies, enjoy the concert of the popular music group Deficīts and listen to educational lectures, while the smallest visitors can have fun taking part in creative workshops.
During Riga Fish Festival, the Central Market will offer fish and fish delicacies from leading producers and processors in Latvia, such as Mottra, Brīvais Vilnis, Kolumbija, Bērzciems and Reinis B.
Tasting of the Riga fish soup will be held on Nēģu Street Square at 1 PM, and the soup will be cooked on the fire right on the spot.
The farm Krupis will offer the legendary grilled Carnikava lampreys, while home wine will be supplied by the farm Dzimta of Rēzekne Municipality.
The festive mood will be created by the popular music group Deficīts with the concert programme Zvejnieka dēls (Fisherman’s Son).
There will also be lectures on a healthy lifestyle and the role of fish in the diet that will be held on Nēģu Street Square.
In turn, the smallest visitors of the Festival are welcome to attend the creative workshops, where they can take part in fun contests, as well as painting and pumpkin carving classes.
